The long-awaited Sol Mateo 40th Signature Kitchen Tour is May 13, 2022, and Kerns Fine Jewelry is excited to be participating in this fabulous event for a very important cause. Originally scheduled for May of 2020, it has been on hold for 2 years due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Timed to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month in May, SolMateo’s annual event is renowned for showcasing inspiring design talent and stunning homes in Burlingame, Hillsborough and San Mateo, and this year’s tour promises to be no exception. The Kitchen Tour is self-guided, giving guests the opportunity to view five exquisite homes with recently renovated kitchens. Guests are also invited to tour the houses’ gorgeous gardens where they can sample some delicious food from local chefs, view local floral designers’ and artisans’ work, and purchase gifts.

All proceeds from the Kitchen Tour go to StarVista's Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Center and the Mental Health Association of San Mateo County’s mental illness and housing assistance programs, directly helping those with mental illness in our community. What is truly special is that monies raise by SolMateo are unrestricted gifts. Most grants, and even many private donations, are given with restricted allocation, but SolMateo’s grants can be used however they need. The only stipulation is that StarVista puts their gifts toward suicide prevention efforts.
Come on out and support this worthy cause. The Kitchen Tour offers a fabulous mix of classic and modern styles, with something for every taste. And afterwards, stop into Kerns Fine Jewelry to see our full line or beautiful Baccarat crystal.

Information About the Organizations
SolMateo, formerly Community Service League (CSL), is a 100% volunteer organization working to support our local community with issues surrounding mental health. By raising money and awareness for organizations that provide essential services like suicide prevention hotlines, emergency housing for homelessness, and counseling services, they strive to help our neighbors obtain important resources in times of need.
Mental Health Association of San Mateo County’s (MHA) mission is to help adults with mental illness move from homelessness to stable, long-term housing with the support services appropriate to their needs. Their goal is to enrich quality of life, restore dignity, and reduce homelessness, particularly for those affected by mental illness and HIV/AIDS. MHA strengthens hope by providing shelter, support and opportunities for socialization.
StarVista provides counseling, crisis prevention, youth housing and outreach programs to reach tens of thousands of people in our community each year. They provide 24-hour crisis hotlines serving over 13,000 callers each year. They also offer in-school intervention and educational programs, as well as a website (onyourmind.net) and a peer-to-peer chat room specifically for teenagers.
